  • Users shared experiences of Indian hotels going above and beyond.

A RECENT SOCIAL media post by creator Vineeth K on X, formerly Twitter, praising Indian hospitality went viral, calling it “unmatched” compared to global standards. It resonated with Indians who have travelled abroad.

Vineeth wrote that hotels in India provide attention and care, often at lower rates, calling it “on another level.” He compared his experiences in Europe, saying that even at £300 a night, guests may lack basic amenities like a dental kit or luggage assistance.

“Those who’ve travelled abroad will agree that Indian hospitality is unmatched,” the caption reads, according to NDTV.

“No place lives by ‘Atithi Devo Bhava (The guest is God)’ like India,” Vineeth wrote.

Many users also shared experiences of Indian hotels going above and beyond. One recalled staying at a hotel in Finland where the elevator was under repair for two years, forcing guests to carry luggage upstairs. Another noted that drinking water and luggage assistance are often unavailable in European hotels.

Another user commented, "Completely agree. Even a 3-star hotel in India offers a higher standard of hospitality than a 5-star deluxe hotel in the Western Hemisphere."

One user wrote, "Indian hospitality has a warmth that money can't buy. It's not just about service; it's about care and respect for guests. 'Atithi Devo Bhava' isn't just a slogan here; it's a way of life."

A recent ICRA report found that hotel demand in India is expected to outpace supply over the next three years, supporting pricing and occupancy in the sector.
