JAVI GROUP WILL develop the 220-key Fairmont Rishikesh, Himalayas in Uttarakhand, India. The resort is expected to open in 2031 in the Shivpuri Range of Rishikesh.
The property marks Fairmont’s entry into one of India’s most visited wellness and spiritual destinations, Accor Ltd. said in a statement. It will span approximately 16 acres and feature four dining venues, 3,000 square meters of event space, a spa, fitness center, swimming pool and kids’ club.
"One of the most alluring luxury travel locations in the nation is Rishikesh, where spirituality, wellness and immersive travel come together,” said Ranju Alex, Accor’s South Asia CEO.
Vibhor Jain, director of Javi Home, said they partnered with Accor to introduce the Fairmont brand to Rishikesh.
“The location has enormous long-term potential, and we think Fairmont's tradition of providing opulent hospitality is a wonderful fit with the area's natural beauty, spiritual past, and increasing attractiveness to discerning tourists. Together, we hope to establish a historic location that would raise the bar for hospitality in Uttarakhand,” Jain said.
Rishikesh is known for its spiritual and wellness tourism. The destination is also popular for luxury travel, adventure tourism, weddings and MICE events, supported by road connectivity to Delhi NCR and other markets, the statement said.
In India, Fairmont operates properties in Jaipur, Mumbai and Udaipur, with upcoming properties planned in Shimla Fagu, Goa and Agra. The Rishikesh property adds to Accor’s planned expansion of the Fairmont brand in India.
Accor recently opened the 118-key Novotel Bhubaneswar, its first property in Odisha.
