G6 HOSPITALITY AND the Texas Hotel & Lodging Association launched a legal support hotline for Texas franchisees. The hotline provides access to three THLA staff attorneys.
The hotline will operate Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, G6 said in a statement. Callers can leave messages 24/7, and THLA attorneys will return calls during business hours.
"This hotline addresses a long-standing need among independent hotel owners for access to legal expertise on issues that affect their businesses," said Ankit Tandon, G6 vice chairman. "Through our partnership with THLA, every Texas franchisee, regardless of operation size, has access to legal counsel and support."
The initiative provides Texas Motel 6 and Studio 6 franchisees with on-demand legal support on compliance with federal, state and local laws, workplace and guest safety protocols and property-related risks.
THLA lawyers will help franchisees address legal issues and comply with applicable regulations. The association’s legal team also provides member franchisees access to an online library of legal resources.
Scott Joslove, THLA president and CEO, said the hotline reflects the partnership between the organizations by providing franchisees with answers to legal questions from lawyers familiar with Texas lodging law.
The hotline follows joint initiatives by G6 Hospitality and THLA, including a safety and security seminar for franchisees and engagement with police departments in Dallas, San Antonio and Fort Worth to support hotel safety and security.
In March, G6 and the Fort Worth Police Department hosted a “Safe Hospitality” seminar for franchisee hotel partners. Sessions covered human trafficking awareness, narcotics identification and reporting, nuisance abatement regulations, and hotel health and safety inspections.
In November, Ritesh Agarwal, founder and CEO of PRISM, the parent company of OYO and G6 Hospitality in the U.S., joined the THLA board to contribute his technology and hospitality experience to the association’s initiatives.
