ZOSTEL OPENED ZOSTEL Guwahati, marking the brand's entry into Assam and expanding its presence in Northeast India. The property is on the outskirts of the city, near the banks of the Brahmaputra.

The property is less than 5 kilometers from Kamakhya Temple, Paltan Bazaar and Fancy Bazaar. Guests can also explore nearby spots including Umananda Temple on Peacock Island, take cruises on the Brahmaputra, visit Chandubi Lake and make day trips to Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary.

It offers a mix of dormitories and private rooms, along with communal spaces for shared travel experiences, according to the company.

"Guwahati is not a waypoint. It is a world unto itself, and it has long been the most underserved region in Indian travel. That is precisely why we are here," said Aviral Gupta, Zo World and Zostel chief executive officer. "Guwahati, with its riverfront energy, its ancient goddess and its position as the threshold to eight extraordinary states, is exactly the kind of destination Zostel was built for."

The opening comes ahead of the Ambubachi Mela, scheduled from June 22 to 26 at the Kamakhya Temple. The festival draws devotees and visitors from across India and is associated with the worship of Goddess Kamakhya. During the festival, the area around the temple fills up with community kitchens and gatherings, giving visitors a unique cultural experience.

In March, Zostel opened Zostel Varanasi near Dashashwamedh Ghat to expand experiential spiritual travel.
