DHARAMPAL SATYAPAL GROUP is bringing a Marriott International W Hotels property to Delhi NCR, near Indira Gandhi International Airport. The 200-key project involves an investment of around $41.9 million and is set to open in the second half of 2027.
The W brand will mark its second India presence after Goa, according to PTI. The property is a conversion of the Uppal's Orchid on NH8, which DS Group is remodeling into the design-led W style.
DS Group, an Uttar Pradesh-based company known for brands including Catch Spices and Pulse candy, entered the hospitality sector 25 years ago and currently operates six properties. The company is planning to invest $105 million to grow its portfolio to 10 to 12 hotels by fiscal year 29, scaling from around 900 keys to 2,000 keys by 2029.

The property will prioritize beverage-led experiences over a conventional F&B format, with venues including a rooftop bar. It is near the upcoming Kiran Nadar Museum and has access from both Delhi and Gurgaon, serving leisure and business travelers.

"From our current 900 keys we plan to scale up to 2,000 keys by 2029," Rajiv Kumar, DS Group vice chairman, told PTI. “The group will focus on brownfield projects that can be brought to market faster than new builds.”

Kumar also pointed to India's hotel penetration rate of roughly 0.27 keys per 1,000 people, compared to a global average of 2.2, as a sign of the demand opportunity in the premium segment.

Nathan Andrews, DS Group, business head, hospitality said the Aerocity area keeps showing strong demand and RevPAR growth, making it a natural home for the W brand.

"By bringing W Hotels to Delhi NCR, we are setting a new benchmark for design-led luxury in one of India's most competitive markets," he said.

Kiran Andicot, Marriott’s senior vice president said the signing of the first W Hotels in Delhi NCR is set to introduce a bold new expression of luxury to the dynamic, high-energy market.

Separately, Chalet Hotels Ltd. opened the 158-key Aravali Marriott Resort & Spa in Faridabad, Haryana in February, rebranding it from Courtyard by Marriott Aravali Resort.
