It launched a June webinar series to share data-driven hotel revenue strategies

Summer 2025 U.S. hotel bookings down amid travel budget cuts

Hotels worldwide are seeing a drop in summer bookings compared to last year, with U.S. properties down 6.72 percent, according to SiteMinder.

U.S. Summer Hotel Bookings See a 2025 Dip Amid Budget Cuts

HOTELS WORLDWIDE ARE seeing a 1.31 percent drop in bookings for summer, from June through August, compared to the same period last year, according to SiteMinder, a hotel distribution and revenue platform. U.S. properties report a 6.72 percent decline, partly due to a 46.04 percent year-over-year fall in Canadian bookings and a 7.37 percent drop from Mexican guests.

ADR for U.S. properties is $317.29 for June through August, down 3.86 percent from $330.03 last year, SiteMinder found. Regional results vary: Texas hotels report a 6.04 percent ADR increase, while Florida properties show an 8.76 percent decline over the same period.

Domestic travelers accounted for more than 70 percent of U.S. hotel arrivals in the first four months of 2025, the report showed. SiteMinder data also shows resilience in the U.S. market. Despite volume changes, the booking window for summer stays made in April is 80.44 days, compared to 81.78 days last year. The average length of stay for summer 2025 rose slightly to 2.29 days from 2.26 days in 2024.

SiteMinder launched a global webinar series titled “Risk, Resilience & Revenue – Navigating Hotel Demand in 2025,” which will run through June and bring together industry leaders to share data-driven strategies for managing hotel revenue, the company said in a statement.

"While market volatility brings challenges, it also creates real opportunities for hotels ready to adapt,” said Trent Innes, SiteMinder’s chief growth officer. “That’s why we created ‘Risk, Resilience & Revenue’—to bring together industry leaders to share the strategies shaping success in their markets. By combining diverse perspectives with comprehensive insights, we’re helping hotels identify trends, tap into new markets, and navigate today’s complexities. It’s about giving hoteliers the clarity and confidence to turn disruption into momentum."

The U.S. session of SiteMinder’s webinar series on June 3 featured Michelle Viajeador, market development manager at SiteMinder, and Josh Graham, head of market development North America at Cloudbeds, the statement said. Sydney-based SiteMinder generates over 120 million reservations worth more than $50 billion in annual revenue for its hotel customers.

In January, SiteMinder found that hotel websites led all booking sources in revenue per booking in 2024, averaging $519—about 60 percent higher than other channels.
