MY PLACE HOTELS of America and Lloyd Cos. signed a multi-property franchise agreement to develop 10 My Place properties over five years in the Midwest. Locations will be announced in the coming months, with Missouri and Ohio identified for the first phase.

Lloyd will lead development and construction, and Lloyd Hospitality Group will manage hotel operations, the companies said in a statement. Construction on the first property will begin later this year, followed by a second shortly after. The first opening is slated for early 2027.

The partners plan to open two properties per year on a six-month development cadence.

“When we met with the Lloyd team, the alignment was clear,” said Matthew Campbell, My Place Hotels’ chief operating officer. “They share our values, understand the business and are committed to doing it the right way. That due diligence works both ways and with Lloyd, it made the decision straightforward.”

The partnership grew from mutual connections. As Lloyd became more familiar with My Place’s business model and leadership, it identified alignment in how both organizations view the hospitality business, leading to the agreement.

Chris Thorkelson, Lloyd Cos. president and CEO, said adding an extended-stay platform to the hospitality division has been a strategic priority.

“It allows us to diversify our portfolio, build on our operational expertise and continue our growth strategy,” he said. “But we were only going to do it with the right partner—one that views the hospitality business the way we do and whose operating structure positions us to protect and strengthen long-term investments across multiple communities. We found that in My Place.”

In April, My Place signed a franchise agreement with Indus Empire Investment to open a hotel in Westminster, Colorado, its third location in the state, following Colorado Springs and Loveland. Separately, Mataji LLC opened My Place Hotel—Jonesboro in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
