IHCL signs 20, opens 11 hotels in Q1 FY27

Indian Hotels Co. Ltd. signed 20 hotels and opened 11 in the first quarter of fiscal year 27, taking its total portfolio to 645 hotels.

INDIAN HOTELS CO. Ltd. signed 20 hotels in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027. The additions take its total portfolio to 645 hotels, with a pipeline of 263 properties.

Of the 20 signings, 17 were in the company's growth brands, Gateway, Ginger and Tree of Life, IHCL said in a statement. New destinations signed during the quarter included Bharatpur in Rajasthan, Trichy in Tamil Nadu, Sindhudurg in Maharashtra, Jawai in Rajasthan and Wayanad in Kerala. IHCL also expanded its presence in established markets such as Mumbai, Goa, Agra and Kolkata

"With a focus on our growth brands, seventeen of the twenty signings this quarter were across Gateway, Ginger and Tree of Life,” said Suma Venkatesh, IHCL executive vice president for real estate and development. “Taj reached a milestone of 150-hotel portfolio with three signings this quarter growing its leisure footprint to Dharamshala, Barapani in Meghalaya and Kusur Valley in Maharashtra.”


Deepika Rao, IHCL executive vice president, hotel openings and new businesses, said the company added 11 hotels during the quarter, taking its operating portfolio to over 380 hotels.

On the opening side, IHCL added Taj Hessischer Hof in Frankfurt and Taj Bush Lodge in Greater Kruger, South Africa, to its international portfolio. In India, SeleQtions added properties in Ayodhya and Mumbai, while Gateway opened in Kandla and Ginger expanded to Hyderabad, Agra, Kota, Gadchiroli in Maharashtra and Siwan in Bihar.

IHCL recently shared plans to invest up to $788.4 million in capex over the next five years as part of its ‘Accelerate 2030’ plan, which aims to build a 700-hotel portfolio. The company said its current pace of signings and openings supports this goal.
