Hihotels adds eight new properties across five states

Eight new Hihotels by Hospitality International properties recently opened in five states: three in Texas, two in Pennsylvania, and one each in New York, Vancouver, and Ohio. The company provides franchising options across its five brands including Scottish Inns, Red Carpet Inn, Master Hosts Inns, Downtowner Inns, and Passport Inn.

In Texas, the three properties include Scottish Inns – Eastex Freeway North in Houston, owned by 59 Little York, Inc. under Sandip Sindha's leadership; Scottish Inns in Decatur owned by Sunlight Partnership LLC led by Leena Patel; and Scottish Inns & Suites in Shenandoah/Woodland owned by Anjali Hospitality LLC under Mahesh Patel's guidance, Hihotels said.


In Pennsylvania, two hotels have opened: Scottish Inns in Middletown, owned by Sky Hotels LLC led by Rajan Vesuwala; and Red Carpet Inn & Suites in Philadelphia, owned by Vrisha Lodging LLC led by Kiran Patel.

Additionally opened are Airport Plaza Hotel in Jamaica, New York, owned by Pride Hospitality under Vipul Patel's leadership; Red Carpet Inn in Dumfries, Vancouver, owned by KOSHA LLC led by Kosha Sharma; and Red Carpet Inn in Garfield Heights, Ohio, owned by VPT Lodging LLC led by Kiran Patel.

“We’re excited to continue adding quality owners and properties in key locations throughout the country as our system expands,” said Chris Guimbellot, hihotels president and CEO. “Our mission is simple: help hoteliers maximize local-market revenue and overall brand value by offering all the resources of a legacy franchise while supporting their independent mindsets to operate their properties as they see fit."

 In October, Hihotels opened four properties: Scottish Inns in Austin, Forest Hill, and Hankamer, Texas, and a Passport Inn in Paradise, Pennsylvania. These properties are owned by Dinesh Patel, Anu Investment Corp., Priteshkumar “Pat” Bhakta, and Saraswati Group, Inc. Hihotels was established in 1982.

CoStar: Hotel construction drops in June

THE NUMBER OF U.S. hotel rooms under construction declined year over year for the sixth straight month in June, reaching a 20-quarter low, according to CoStar. Additionally, more than half of all rooms under development are in the South, mostly outside the top 25 markets.

Extended-stay occupancy was 10.5 percentage points above the total hotel industry, at the lower end of the long-term average premium range.
