THE 145-KEY Aarlis Hotel Panchkula opened in Panchkula, Haryana, India. The hotel is part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Vignette Collection and marks the brand’s debut in India and Southwest Asia.
The hotel is within the Chandigarh Tricity region, IHG said in a statement. Nearby attractions include Morni Hills, Sukhna Lake, the Rock Garden and the Capitol Complex. It also includes a spa, fitness center, swimming pool and about 30,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
“India represents enormous opportunity for Vignette Collection and The Aarlis Hotel, Panchkula is the perfect hotel to lead that journey,” said Sudeep Jain, IHG’s managing director for Southwest Asia.
Neelabh Chugh, general manager at The Aarlis, said the opening of Vignette in India and South West Asia was a proud moment for the team.
"From the beginning, The Aarlis Hotel, Panchkula was envisioned to capture the spirit of this land, the Shivaliks, Panchkula and a sense of place that is entirely our own," he said.
The collection has 34 hotels in 17 countries, with 45 more in the global pipeline.
In January, IHG announced plans to have more than 400 operational and in-development hotels in India within five years.
