- Dusit and Atmosphere to launch Dusit Princess Rishikesh.
- Project near Rishikesh set to open in 2031.
- Expansion follows dusitD2 Fagu, Shimla opening.
DUSIT INTERNATIONAL AND Atmosphere will introduce the 30-key Dusit Princess Rishikesh in Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. The hotel, part of a mixed-use project in the Himalayan foothills near Rishikesh, is slated to open in 2031.
The project will include an all-day dining restaurant, business centre, gym, multipurpose event spaces and yoga room, Dusit said in a statement. Planned amenities also include a clubhouse with wellness and recreational facilities.
“India continues to be a strategic growth market for our company, with strong long-term potential across both gateway cities and emerging leisure destinations,” said Siradej Donavanik, Dusit’s vice president for global development. “The signing of Dusit Princess Rishikesh reflects our commitment to growing in India through destinations aligned with evolving traveller trends and owner aspirations. Rishikesh, with its blend of spirituality, wellness, and natural beauty, is a destination where we believe our brands can create meaningful experiences for guests.”
The company’s expansion into Uttarakhand follows the opening of dusitD2 Fagu, Shimla, in December 2024. The move is part of Bangkok-based Dusit’s growth strategy in India. In April, the company signed six hotels totaling about 800 keys, targeting tier-two and tier-three cities with limited upscale hospitality options.
Sanchit Jain, Atmosphere Chairman and Managing Director, said they are pleased to collaborate with Dusit International on the development in Rishikesh.
“The vision for Atmosphere has always been to create destination-led experiences that combine hospitality, wellness and nature,” Jain said. “With Dusit’s hospitality expertise and wellness-focused approach, we are confident Dusit Princess Rishikesh will become a retreat for travellers seeking immersive stays in Uttarakhand.”
Global hotel chains including Marriott International, Hilton Worldwide Holdings and IHG Hotels & Resorts are expanding room capacity in India. Despite signs of slower consumer spending, they remain confident in long-term domestic travel demand, according to Bloomberg and other sources.
“As we continue to expand our brand presence in the country, we will maintain our focus on destinations positioned for growth in leisure, wellness and experience-led travel, supported by strong market fundamentals,” Donavanik said.
