- Delhi hotel rates rose above $840.

Luxury rooms that normally cost about $189.15 per night are either unavailable or being quoted at $840.76 or more. The increase comes as delegations, diplomats, ministers and officials arrive for the summit, according to ANI.
Rajan Sehgal, a Public Relations Council of the Travel Agents Association of India member, told ANI that bookings are strong outside central Delhi as well.
“This is a temporary phase, but it gives a lot of promotion to India as a tourism destination. When they come to India, they will see the hospitality which they don’t find in other countries,” Sehgal said.
Hotels in Aerocity, Gurugram and Noida are also seeing strong demand, with several properties reporting near-full or sold-out rooms. Limited room supply and advance bookings are also pushing rates higher, especially at luxury hotels.
Murlimani, Delhi Hotel and Restaurant Owners Association chairman, linked the higher rates to limited room availability and advance bookings.
“If there is any summit or function in Delhi, particularly at five-star hotels, rates will increase because of bookings. I will request every hotelier to send some clients to budget hotels when there is an increase in demand,” Murlimani said.
Hotels are also preparing regional food and cultural programs for visiting delegations. Murlimani said budget hotels would also be encouraged to serve different regional cuisines during the summit.
The Press Trust of India reported a similar surge in luxury hotel rates in the city.
