U.S. HOTEL METRICS continued to show weekly declines but year-over-year gains for the week ending Aug. 8, according to CoStar. Philadelphia posted the largest occupancy increase among the top 25 markets.
Occupancy declined to 70 percent for the week ended Aug. 8, down from 71.3 percent the previous week but up 3 percentage points year over year. ADR was $166.85, down from $168.82 but up 4.1 percent year over year. RevPAR came in at $116.77, down from $120.45 but up 7.2 percent year over year.
Among the top 25 markets, Philadelphia posted the largest gains in occupancy, rising 14.2 percent to 74.6 percent, and RevPAR, up 27.4 percent to $116.29. It also recorded the second-largest ADR gain, up 11.5 percent to $155.79.
Chicago posted the largest ADR gain, rising 15.2 percent to $206.21, and the second-largest RevPAR gain, up 23.8 percent to $176.93.
Miami posted the largest occupancy decline, down 7.2 percent to 65.8 percent, and RevPAR, 8.5 percent lower at $107.60. Nashville recorded the largest ADR decline, 4.1 percent to $158.12.
