Vana was rebranded as Six Senses Vana in 2023. Veer Singh, son of Max Group founder Analjit Singh, owns the Dehradun property. Analjit gifted the property to his son as part of his succession plan, according to The Economic Times.
“Chalet Hotels has a very deep belief in the premiumization of its offerings, be it residential or commercial projects,” Shwetank Singh, Chalet CEO said in February. “Our data points tell us that these are the segments where most of the growth will come from. All our future announcements will be driven by this belief.”
Singh said the company’s first Ritz-Carlton hotel in Hyderabad will have 330 rooms, along with commercial and retail space.
Chalet had also been pursuing the acquisition of Mahananda Spa and Resorts, the owner of The Westin Resort & Spa, Himalayas in Rishikesh, at an enterprise value of $55.32 million.
The company later announced plans to acquire a 150-key resort in Udaipur for $17.85 million and is developing a hotel at Delhi airport that Indian Hotels Co. Ltd. will manage under the Taj brand.
Recently, Chalet reported stronger domestic leisure demand despite weaker foreign tourist bookings linked to the Iran conflict.
