SREE HOTELS ACQUIRED the 130-key Hyatt Place Columbia/Downtown/The Vista in Columbia, South Carolina. The Charlotte, North Carolina-based company owns and operates the property.

The 6-story hotel is in Columbia’s arts and entertainment district, near the University of South Carolina, Colonial Life Arena and Williams-Brice Stadium, SREE Hotels said in a statement. Nearby attractions include the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, Columbia Museum of Art and Riverbanks Zoo & Garden.

The property has a 24-hour fitness centre, indoor pool and 2,050 square feet of meeting space. The Placery restaurant is in the lobby. Andrew Soltau is the general manager.

“The Vista district and the broader downtown core have seen sustained demand from both business and leisure travelers,” said Parag Patel, SREE Hotels CEO. “This property adds to our strong foothold in one of the Southeast's most resilient secondary markets.”

The acquisition expands SREE Hotels’ presence in downtown Columbia, where demand comes from business and leisure travellers, the statement said. The company is led by Chairman Ravi Patel, Vice Chairman Chandra Patel and Parag Patel.

In January, SREE Hotels sold the 107-room Holiday Inn Lumberton in Lumberton, North Carolina, for $7.7 million.
