- He was chief architect of CHARLIE, an AI solution.
Tony Pallas is now Choice Hotels International’s chief technology officer. He will lead enterprise technology, engineering and SkyTouch Technology, the company’s hotel operations and property management platform.
Most recently, he served as executive sponsor and chief architect for CHARLIE, an AI-powered solution unveiled at the company’s annual convention last month, Choice said in a statement. Pallas will report to Anna Scozzafava, chief data, AI and technology officer and help lead the company’s next phase of technology development, the statement said.
“Tony is a proven leader with deep technology and hospitality experience,” said Scozzafava. “He has consistently demonstrated the ability to build high-performing teams, create cutting-edge technology platforms and keep customer needs at the center of every decision—delivering meaningful business results.”
Pallas has led platform modernization for more than a decade, expanding cloud capabilities and developing solutions to improve hotel performance, operations and franchisee results, the statement said. As chief commercial and technology officer for Choice’s property management system business, he increased annual revenue by 68 percent and EBITDA by nearly 100 percent, doubling the business during his tenure.
In his new role, he will support the development and adoption of the company’s AI-enabled capabilities, including Choice Hotels Business Direct, EasyBid and RAISE. The tools are designed to help hotel owners capture demand, improve operations and adapt to changes in travel discovery and booking.
Prior to joining Choice Hotels, Pallas advised companies on technology strategy and product development and led teams that built software across web, mobile and IoT platforms.
“I look forward to working with our teams to build scalable solutions, advance AI-driven innovation and deliver technologies that support stakeholders’ success and company growth in a digital world,” he said.
Patrick Pacious, Choice’s president and CEO since 2017, is stepping down effective immediately. He will be succeeded on an interim basis by Dominic Dragisich, the company’s chief growth and strategy officer.
