- Ixigo acquires 54.66 percent stake in Brevistay.
- Brevistay reported turnover of $1.9 million in FY26.
- Deal to add 10,000 contracted hotels to ixigo's platform.
Gurgaon-based ixigo is a travel platform that helps users search and book flights, trains, buses and hotels. With Brevistay now part of its fold, travelers on ixigo will also be able to book hotel rooms by the hour, adding a flexible short-stay option to what the platform already offers, according to the company.
Brevistay will become an ixigo subsidiary once the deal closes by July 31 with the payout including a non-compete fee.
Ixigo pulled in $150 million from Dutch technology investor Prosus last year and growing its hotel business was part of the plan. Hotels tend to be one of the better-margin segments for online travel platforms, though ixigo's footprint there was small. The Brevistay deal brings 10,000 directly contracted hotels onto its platform.
“Brevistay has built a category defining platform with deep hotel partnerships and a strong presence in the flexible-stay segment,” said ixigo’s Aloke Bajpai, group CEO and Rajnish Kumar, group Co-CEO. “Together, we see significant opportunities to leverage technology, AI and distribution to create a more comprehensive accommodation ecosystem for Indian
travellers while helping our hotel partners maximise utilisation and revenue, targeting a diverse pool of hotel bookers.” Brevistay was set up in 2016 and runs what it calls India's largest flexible-stay hotel network.
Prateek Singh, Shubham Agarwal and Nikhil Pathak, co-founders of Brevistay, said the tie-up gives their business a much bigger reach.
"People want convenience, choice and flexibility when booking hotels,” the three said. “With ixigo's reach and AI tools, we think we can build a strong hotel network across India.”
Brevistay's numbers tell a good story, with turnover climbing from $0.9 million in financial year 2024 to $1.28 million in financial year 2025 and reaching $1.9 million in financial year 2026. Ixigo will also have the option to pick up the remaining stake in Brevistay down the line.
Earlier this year, IHCL acquired a 51 percent stake in Brij Hospitality for approximately $24.8 million.
