Stephen Paul is now senior director of data, technology and innovation at Noble Investment Group. He will lead the development and execution of the company’s data, technology and artificial intelligence strategy.

Paul previously worked at Starr Insurance, where he led the development of AI-powered underwriting and forecasting tools to support operations, Noble said in a statement. He has led data, analytics, AI and application development initiatives, built technology teams and delivered platforms that turn complex data and workflows into faster, informed decisions.

"The strongest investment platforms compound what they learn," said Mit Shah, Noble's founder and CEO. "Across more than three decades of investing through market cycles, Noble has built an integrated platform with significant data, operating experience and institutional knowledge. Our opportunity is to connect those insights more systematically - using technology and AI to recognize patterns faster, improve decision-making and make the entire platform stronger with every investment."

The newly created role reflects the firm's investment in data, artificial intelligence and technology to support investment decisions, portfolio performance and its institutional investment platform for global investors, the statement said.

Adi Bhoopathy, Noble managing principal and head of capital markets, said Paul combines technical expertise with an understanding of how data and AI can improve enterprise decision-making.

"As Noble continues to invest in these capabilities, his leadership will help us convert the knowledge generated across our integrated platform into a more durable advantage for our investment teams, our portfolio and our investors."

Paul will work with senior leadership to establish standards and capabilities that connect information across the investment lifecycle and organization, enabling Noble to use its scale, operating experience and data to generate insights and improve execution across the portfolio.

He has also held data and technology leadership roles in insurance, logistics and financial services, with experience in FP&A, corporate finance and data engineering.

In May, Noble appointed Gary Womack as senior director for design and development.
