KAMAT HOTELS INDIA Limited opened an IRA by Orchid Hotels in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India. The hotel has 50 rooms.

The property is at Himalaya Mall, opposite Victoria Park Road, ISCON Mega City, Bhavnagar. The hotel is designed to serve both business and leisure travelers, with banqueting facilities and an all-day dining restaurant, the company said in a statement.

The property was inaugurated in the presence of Cabinet Minister Jitubhai Vaghani, alongside Dr. Vithal Venkatesh Kamat, Vishal Kamat, KHIL executive director and property owners Rohit Modi and Kamlesh Modi.

"We are delighted to bring IRA by Orchid Hotels to Bhavnagar, a city with immense growth potential and a strong cultural identity," said Kamat. "This launch reflects our commitment to expanding into emerging markets and offering travellers contemporary hospitality experiences backed by quality service, comfort and the warmth that Orchid Hotels is known for."

Rohit Modi and Kamlesh Modi, the property owners, said the project reflects their vision of a hospitality destination that captures Bhavnagar’s spirit while offering modern comforts.

"Collaborating with KHIL to bring the IRA brand to Bhavnagar has been a truly enriching experience. We look forward to contributing to the city's growing tourism and business landscape," they said.

Bhavnagar is often seen as a gateway to the Saurashtra region. Last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for development projects worth more than $3.9 billion.

The city is also seeing growing industrial and infrastructure activity. This includes upcoming semiconductor, manufacturing and engineering projects in nearby Dholera, which is drawing increased business travel and investment into the area.

KHIL was incorporated in 1995 in Maharashtra by Late Venkatesh Krishna Kamat and associates to develop and operate hotels. The group is now led by Dr. Vithal Venkatesh Kamat, with Vishal Kamat managing operations. IRA is the upper mid-market brand under KHIL, which also operates The Orchid Hotels, Fort JadhavGADH and Mahodadhi Palace, among others.

The IRA brand focuses on contemporary, value-driven hospitality in emerging tier-two and tier-three cities across India, the statement said.

Separately, Royal Orchid Hotels Limited opened Z by Regenta in Ahmedabad’s Vastrapur area in partnership with PrimeStay Hospitality.
