- Saltstayz plans to add 22 hotels in the current fiscal year.
- The company targets 250 hotels across 50 cities by FY30.
- It currently operates 33 hotels with 1,214 keys.
"We are planning to add another 22 properties this fiscal year taking the total to 55 hotels,” Gupta told PTI. “Our presence is more in the north, so in our next phase of expansion we will focus more on the south and the west.”
On the financial side, Saltstayz reached revenue of around $128.7 million in fiscal year 2025-26. It is targeting revenue of $159 million and a workforce of 3,000 to 3,500 by fiscal year 30. The company has so far been entirely bootstrapped, investing around $1.26 million of its own funds, with plans to put in another $1.9 million to $2.1 million for new city expansions.
To support the pace of growth needed to hit its fiscal year 30 targets, Gupta said the company is planning to raise funds this year while preferring an asset-light model to support faster expansion.
"So far, we have considered mostly debt as a funding option, but equity is on the cards as well, though we have not decided on this yet," he said.
The company follows an asset-light model covering lease, revenue sharing and management contracts. Looking further ahead, it is targeting 250 hotels across 50 cities with around 10,000 to 11,000 keys by fiscal year 30.
Gupta said spiritual and religious destinations are also on the radar, as the company looks at markets with consistent year-round footfall.
Separately, GRT Hotels & Resorts announced plans to add eight hotels across tier-2 and tier-3 markets, spiritual tourism circuits and hill stations in South India.
