RAJASTHAN IS GEARING up to launch a summer tourism campaign, pushing to bring in visitors outside its usual busy winter months. The initiative, called “Rajasthan in Summer,” will run alongside the “Visit My State” and “Holiday in Rajasthan” drives.

The campaign will cover key tourism regions across the state, each with its own theme, according to PTI. Udaipur gets lake experiences and cultural evenings, Bundi is being pitched as a hidden heritage spot and Jaipur and Jodhpur will lean on palace stays and local food. The Thar Desert region, including Barmer, is being shaped around solo travel and rural experiences.

"The primary objective is to establish Rajasthan as a year-round tourism destination," said Daleep Singh Rathore, Rajasthan joint director of tourism. "A comprehensive outreach strategy is being developed with a focus on digital campaigns, social media storytelling, experiential tourism and promotion of lesser-known destinations."

Rathore said the campaign is being carried out on the direction of deputy chief minister and tourism minister Diya Kumari.

The department is putting together short films, video stories and social media reels to support the campaign.

The push is aimed at younger travelers who are looking for something more than standard sightseeing and the state hopes to draw both domestic and international visitors through the summer months, PTI reported.

Wildlife tourism is also part of the plan, with Ranthambore National Park getting special attention. The department pointed out that tigers are more visible in summer, which could pull in wildlife travelers during what is otherwise a quieter period.

Separately, Sarovar Hotels opened Golden Tulip Kukas Jaipur and Skywings Sarovar Portico Mathura, expanding its presence in leisure and pilgrimage markets.
