ITC HOTELS LTD. and Kalsi Buildcon Pvt. Ltd. signed a management agreement for Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels, Rajgir. The property will have 107 keys and is in Bihar, India.

The hotel is being developed under a long-term arrangement between the Bihar State Tourism Development Corp. and Kalsi, ITC said in a statement. The signing took place in the presence of Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and ITC managing director Anil Chadha.

The 2.67-acre hotel will include an all-day dining restaurant, about 5,000 square feet of indoor event space and more than 12,000 square feet of landscaped outdoor space for weddings, conferences and other events.

Rajgir is one of Bihar’s major spiritual and historical destinations, attracting visitors interested in Buddhist heritage and religious tourism. The city is associated with several important Buddhist and Jain sites and is also home to the Vishwa Shanti Stupa and the Nalanda archaeological region nearby.

"Bihar is home to some of India's most significant cultural and spiritual destinations, and we see immense long-term potential for hospitality-led tourism in the state,” said Chadha. “As domestic travel continues to evolve, travellers are increasingly seeking destinations that offer authentic experiences alongside branded hospitality.”

Sumeet Singh Kalsi, Kalsi’s director said Rajgir's deep historical significance and appeal among visitors from India and overseas makes it a strong opportunity for a quality hotel.

"Combined with ITC Hotels' recognised service excellence, we are confident that this property will emerge as a distinguished addition to the state's growing travel landscape," he said.

The signing follows ITC’s recent agreement for a new property in Patna and the opening of Welcomhotel Bodhgaya Hotel & Convention Centre, adding to the company's growing Bihar footprint, the statement said.

ITC and M/S Sumeru Hospitality recently signed a management agreement for a 99-key Welcomhotel in Mysuru, Karnataka.
