HILTON WORLDWIDE HOLDINGS Inc. recently opened its 1,000th luxury and lifestyle hotel globally, with nearly 500 in the pipeline, such as NoMad Detroit. The company plans to add more than 150 luxury and lifestyle hotels worldwide this year, including its first LXR Hotels & Resorts property in India.

It added more than 100 luxury and lifestyle hotels to its pipeline this year, following the NoMad and Graduate brand additions and a new partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World, Hilton said in a statement.

“Our ultimate goal is to serve travelers for any stay occasion, anywhere in the world they want to be,” said Chris Nassetta, president and CEO of Hilton. “Our luxury and lifestyle portfolios are a key part of this strategy, and today we marked an important milestone as we work to build the best hotel brands in these categories globally. We look forward to continuing this momentum with the expected opening of three new luxury and lifestyle hotels per week this year.”

Recent U.S. openings include Tempo by Hilton Raleigh and The Radical Asheville, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, with the Waldorf Astoria New York set to open next, the statement said. Recent U.S. signings include new Waldorf Astoria properties in Texas Hill Country.

The upcoming NoMad Detroit hotel will be located in The Station at Michigan Central, a 30-acre site that includes Detroit’s former passenger rail station, Hilton said. In partnership with Ford Motor Company, the project aims to link the history of the station and the city with NoMad’s global presence.

Graduate by Hilton plans new hotels near universities in Boulder, Colorado, and Syracuse, New York, with more than 50 deals in development, the statement said. The brand also aims to expand beyond the U.S. and U.K. to university towns worldwide. Hilton’s partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World expanded this year with 50 hotels added, bringing the total available to Hilton guests to about 450.

Hilton recently unveiled a new prototype for Tru by Hilton as the brand targets growth in U.S. primary, secondary, and tertiary markets and abroad.

RevPAR trends for US extended-stay hotels in April 2025

Report: Extended-stay April performance mixed

What's the latest on US extended-stay hotel performance for April 2025?

U.S. EXTENDED-STAY AND overall hotel RevPAR declined in April, reflecting their long-term correlation, according to The Highland Group. Economy and mid-price extended-stay hotels performed better than their respective classes, while upscale extended-stay hotel RevPAR fell in line with all upscale hotels, according to STR/CoStar.

The Highland Group’s “US Extended-Stay Hotels Bulletin: April 2025” reported a 3.6 percent year-over-year increase in extended-stay room nights available. This gain partly reflects the addition of mid-price brands WaterWalk by Wyndham in May 2024 and Executive Residency by Best Western in January to the database.
