G6 HOSPITALITY, PARENT of Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands, launched “G6 Shining” to improve guest arrivals. The program will upgrade lighting, signage and exteriors to improve safety and comfort.

G6 Shining will begin at select pilot properties before expanding across the Motel 6 and Studio 6 network, the company said in a statement. Improvements will vary by location and include exterior and pathway lighting, energy-efficient LED fixtures, enhanced signage, architectural lighting and exterior artwork.

“For more than 60 years, Motel 6 has been guided by a simple philosophy of making every traveler feel welcome from the moment they arrive,” said Ankit Tandon, G6 vice chairman. “G6 Shining builds on that legacy by enhancing the way our properties look and feel, creating a warmer, more welcoming and secure arrival experience for guests.”

The initiative builds on Motel 6’s “We’ll leave the light on for you” promise by extending it beyond the guest room, the statement said. The upgrades are meant to make properties easier to identify and navigate, creating a well-lit, well-maintained environment.

G6 Hospitality said choosing an economy hotel should not mean compromising on the experience. Guests should be able to choose a lower price while feeling comfortable and confident, with improvements built around the guest journey, the company said.

Anuj Ladha, G6 Hospitality’s national head of brand performance, said the initiative will also help franchise owners strengthen their properties and the value they offer guests.

“G6 Shining is a meaningful investment in the future of our brands and in the properties where our guests experience them every day,” Ladha said. “By improving lighting, visibility, signage and the overall presentation of our properties, we are putting tangible investment behind the experience we want Motel 6 and Studio 6 to deliver.”

The initiative supports G6’s efforts to evolve Motel 6 and Studio 6 for today’s travelers while helping franchise owners address individual property needs and improve the guest experience.

G6 recently held town halls with more than 150 franchise owners across seven states to discuss key business topics.
