The UK-based software company provides cloud-based solutions for sectors including hospitality, the company said in a statement. The appointment adds leadership to its APAC operations, a region it sees as key to growth for STAAH, an Access hospitality technology platform.
Most recently, he was global chief operating officer at RunDTC, where he built three global capability centers, scaling each to over 1,000 people across multiple countries, the statement said. He also held senior roles at Dentsu Group, Isobar and Tata Group companies.
“India is an exciting near-term growth market for us in the accommodation software space,” said Louise Daley, Access’s head of hospitality for APAC. “Through STAAH, an Access company, we already have a substantial footprint with hoteliers across the country. As we prepare to bring Access Evo to India — our AI-powered platform that helps hospitality businesses focus on strategic priorities and everyday tasks — having leadership on the ground is critical.”
Access, through STAAH, has worked with Indian hoteliers for several years, the company said. The appointment aims to expand its offerings and local support. It also plans to develop India’s technology talent, including AI, for its hospitality division, with Shimpi leading the effort.
Shimpi said joining The Access Group during its India expansion is a major opportunity.
“We have a strong foundation through STAAH, an Access company, and the broader Access platform opens opportunities for customers to grow and for employees to do more,” he said. “My priority will be to build a team aligned with The Access Group’s mission, bring in local talent and ensure customers have a reliable technology partner.”
In April, Accor Ltd. appointed Amit Malik vice president of people and culture for South Asia.
