- WSHA to train 2,000 youth this year.
- Program reaches 20 cities nationwide.
- 2,000 graduates now have full-time jobs.
The program operates in 20 cities and has enrolled more than 4,000 trainees. More than 3,000 have completed the program and 2,000 are now in full-time jobs. Glenn Mandziuk, WSHA CEO and president, shared the figures with PTI. The program provides training in job skills, life skills, digital and financial literacy and hotel work.
"Genuine sustainable growth in hospitality isn't just about expansion,” Mandziuk told PTI. “It is also about the people we bring along with us. Our Employability Program goes beyond filling vacancies. It is a strategic investment in building a resilient workforce, giving people the confidence, skills, and real opportunities to build brilliant, lifelong careers.”
The program has helped participants gain hospitality skills and move into industry roles. Rajni from Mumbai completed hotel operations training and secured an apprenticeship at a five-star hotel, while Kabira from Raigad district completed food and beverage service training and now works as an associate at a partner hotel.
Mandziuk said tackling youth unemployment requires the hospitality industry to work together on shared solutions.
WSHA will host its Global Summit in Paris on Dec. 8-9, bringing together hospitality leaders to discuss sustainability challenges.
