LALCHAND GROUP WILL develop two Radisson hotels in Odisha. The 115-key Radisson Hotel Bhubaneswar and 105-key Radisson Resort Kataka will add 220 rooms to the group’s portfolio.

The deal marks the group’s entry into Kataka with the city’s first branded resort and strengthens its presence in Bhubaneswar. The two properties will cater to business, leisure, MICE, social and cultural travel, Radisson Hotel Group said in a statement.

Bhubaneswar is a commercial and institutional hub, supported by government, education, healthcare, industry and religious tourism. The hotel will be near NH-16, Bhubaneswar Railway Station and Biju Patnaik International Airport, providing access to key areas in the city. The hotel will offer an all-day dining restaurant, bar, tea lounge, swimming pool, spa and fitness center. It will also include more than 1,200 square meters of meeting and event space with two ballrooms and two meeting rooms.

Kataka is a commercial and cultural center known for trade, textiles, handicrafts and silver filigree. The resort will be along Sambalpur-Kataka Road. The city attracts cultural and religious travelers through destinations such as Barabati Fort, Kataka Chandi Temple and events such as Bali Yatra and Durga Puja. The resort will offer an all-day dining restaurant, bar, swimming pool, spa and fitness center. It will also include 1,068 square meters of meeting and event space with a ballroom and two meeting rooms.

“Bhubaneswar and Kataka offer different demand markets, with Bhubaneswar serving commercial demand and Kataka serving leisure, cultural and social demand,” said Davashish Srivastava, RHG vice president of development for South Asia. “With six hotels in Puri, Bhubaneswar, Kataka and Gopalpur, we will continue to focus on Odisha and Eastern India.”

Ajit Hans, Lalchand director said, the two properties will combine contemporary hospitality with designed spaces for business, leisure and social occasions.

Recently, RHG opened Radisson Resort & Spa Sasan Gir and Park Inn & Suites by Radisson Rajkot in Gujarat.
