Ed Brock is an award-winning journalist who has worked for various U.S. newspapers and magazines, including with American City & County magazine, a national publication based in Atlanta focused on city and county government issues. He is currently senior editor at Asian Hospitality magazine, the top U.S. publication for Asian American hoteliers. Originally from Mobile, Alabama, Ed began his career in journalism in the early 1990s as a reporter for a chain of weekly newspapers in Baldwin County, Alabama. After a stint teaching English in Japan, Ed returned to the U.S. and moved to the Atlanta area where he returned to journalism, coming to work at Asian Hospitality in 2016.

The TownePlace Suites by Marriott San Antonio Northwest at The RIM in San Antonio, Texas, opens on Aug. 17. It is owned and managed by Satesh Limited, led by Sunil Wadhwani, president.

The 109-suite hotel is 15 miles from San Antonio International Airport and 20 minutes from downtown San Antonio. Nearby attractions include Six Flags Fiesta Texas, The Shops at La Cantera and the University of Texas San Antonio.

Hotel amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center and a meeting room. The hotel is pet-friendly.

Last week, Champion Hotels Group, led by founder Champak “Champ” Patel, and Jain Hotels led by CEO Jayesh Jain, opened the GLō Tulsa East Route 66.

CRAIG SULLIVAN, FOUNDER of the California Lodging Investment Conference, launched CLIC Media, a platform providing interview programs and content on the hospitality industry. It released the first episodes of Continental Lodging Investment Conversations & Connections (CLIC Connect), an interview series on the hotel industry.

The initial episodes featured Sarah Howard, CEO of Edenburg Hospitality and Rachel Humphrey, founder and chair of the Women in Hospitality Leadership Alliance, the company said in a statement. Suzanne Markham Bagnera is named director and producer of its new show.
