Shivam Soham contracts with HE to manage new Holiday Inn Express

The hotel is scheduled to open in early 2021 near Fort Myers, FL, airport

DEVELOPMENT COMPANY SHIVAM Soham, LLC, led by Tarun Patel, principal, has contracted with Hotel Equities to manage its new Holiday Inn Express & Suites Fort Myers Airport hotel in Fort Myers, Florida. The 101-room hotel is scheduled for early 2021.

Along with Southwest Florida International Airport, other nearby attractions to the new hotel include JetBlue Park, the Boston Red Sox spring training facility and CenturyLink Sports Complex, the Minnesota Twins spring training facility as well as Fort Myers beaches. Also in close proximity is Rockstar Harley Davidson, Legends Golf and Country Club, and Olde Hickory Golf and Country Club.


“The hotel will benefit from this partnership as Hotel Equities comes highly recommended from its customers and carry’s the brand reputation for delivering excellence in all areas,” Shivam Soham’s Patel said.

Hotel amenities will include a swimming pool and a board room. The hotel’s design also incorporates safety and cleanliness measures with reduced contact at check-in, touchless transactions, sanitizing stations and regular deep-cleaning of high-touch surfaces and high-traffic areas.

In September, Atlanta-based HE contracted with The Witness Group, to manage its portfolio of 36 hotels. Based in Columbus, Ohio, TWG was formed in 2016 as a merger of Alliance Hospitality and KB Hotel Group with Ohm Patel as CEO, according to an article in Asian Hospitality at the time. KB Hotel Group was a management company while Alliance did development.

Economy and mid-price extended-stay hotels performed better than their respective classes, while upscale extended-stay hotel RevPAR fell in line with all upscale hotels, according to STR/CoStar.

The Highland Group’s “US Extended-Stay Hotels Bulletin: April 2025” reported a 3.6 percent year-over-year increase in extended-stay room nights available. This gain partly reflects the addition of mid-price brands WaterWalk by Wyndham in May 2024 and Executive Residency by Best Western in January to the database.
