He was Civitas Capital Group’s director of investor relations

Manuel Ortiz is the new vice president of the investor relations department at NewcrestImage. Most recently, he was the director, investor relations with Civitas Capital Group.

In his new role, Ortiz will manage investment portfolios and oversee parts of a billion-dollar expansion program announced by the company in July of 2019. Mehul Patel is chairman and CEO of NewcrestImage.

Prior to joining Civitas Capital seven years ago, Ortiz led the communication department and worked on economic development for the Port of Brownsville, Texas. He also worked as an analyst with the Republic Group and Southwest Corp. Federal Credit Union, and as an underwriter at Zurich North America.

He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Southern Methodist University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

Patel said NewcrestImage is raising $250 million for investment in acquisitions, new-build projects, and adaptive re-use of historic buildings as part of the expansion.

“Now we are actively adding the personnel and creating the infrastructure that will strengthen and broaden our relationships with key stakeholders,” Patel said.

The Dallas-based NewcrestImage will soon move its headquarters to a new 80,000-square-foot, four-story building in nearby Grapevine, Texas.
