Mark Williams, Extended Stay America managing director for franchise development, will retire at the end of 2026. He will conclude a hospitality career spanning almost four decades across global hotel companies.
Williams, who joined ESA in 2020, helped expand its brand family and drive growth across the Extended Stay America Premier Suites, Suites and Select Suites brands, the company said in a statement. In March, ESA marked five years since the launch of its Premier Suites brand in 2021.
“It has been a privilege to work alongside such an exceptional team and to partner with owners and developers who share our commitment to long-term success,” said Williams. “ESA has built a platform defined by strong brands, talented people and a clear focus on creating value for our owners and franchisees. I am proud of what we have accomplished together and am confident the company is well positioned for continued franchise growth in the years ahead.”
Throughout his tenure, Williams worked with owners, developers and partners to advance new-construction and conversion opportunities, the statement said.
Greg Juceam, ESA president and CEO, said Williams’ leadership was foundational in shaping the company’s franchising platform.
“Over the past six years, he has played a transformative role in growing ESA franchising to nearly 200 hotels across the U.S., with a solid pipeline for continued organic development in years to come,” he said. “We are grateful for Mark’s passion and contributions and wish him every success in his well-earned retirement.”
ESA is interviewing candidates to succeed Williams, with a successor expected to be named before his retirement.
In April, CenterPoint Hospitality, led by Managing Partner Anant Patel, opened Extended Stay America Select Suites – Longview in Longview, Texas.
