G6 HOSPITALITY IS working with the FBI to combat human trafficking across its hotel network. The partnership will focus on technology-based prevention, intelligence sharing, employee and franchisee training.

G6 and the FBI identified properties in Texas that require intervention and are working to improve information sharing, training and investigative efforts, G6 said in a statement. Lessons from the initial phase will guide the partnership’s expansion across G6’s network.

“Safety is strongest when industry and law enforcement work together with a shared understanding of the risks and a commitment to act on information,” said Ankit Tandon, G6 vice chairman.

Part of the partnership is the continued development of Protect24.ai, a security intelligence platform that monitors escort advertising online and helps identify safety and security risks, the statement said. Based on FBI feedback, G6 is working with the platform team to add an age-range filter to help teams identify and assess potential risk indicators.

G6 and the FBI are also developing a nationwide Human Trafficking Conference. The event will bring together law enforcement representatives and G6 franchisees to share investigative trends and practices, strengthen relationships and support prevention efforts across G6’s portfolio.

The initiative will strengthen ties between hotel operators and law enforcement, G6 said. It will help franchisees understand trafficking patterns and give law enforcement insight into hotel operations.

An FBI spokesperson said human trafficking is a serious crime that requires partnerships across communities and industries.

“The FBI is excited to partner with Motel 6 and Studio 6 to help prevent human trafficking and strengthen awareness through training and education for franchisees and hotel staff,” the spokesperson said.

In September, G6 launched Shield6, a safety training program developed by its safety and security team. It provides hotel owners, managers and employees with safety training, resources and awareness.
