Vellore draws year-round demand from healthcare, education, business and pilgrimage travel. Christian Medical College and Vellore Institute of Technology attract patients, students and families, while nearby Ranipet supports business travel, Grand Continent said in a statement.
The hotel is near Katpadi Railway Station, Sripuram Golden Temple and Amirthi Zoological Park, with Chennai Airport serving as the nearest major airport. Amenities include a multi-cuisine restaurant, a bar and event spaces.
Bengaluru, Karnataka-based Grand Continent, founded by Ramesh Siva in 2011, has more than 2,000 keys in 20-plus cities, with an international presence in the U.S. and Dubai.
"Vellore is an important market for us because of the diverse travel it attracts,” said Siva. “We are further strengthening our presence in South India while continuing to expand into markets where we see sustained demand.”
Separately, Setupuram Hotels & Resorts will develop the 300-key Taj Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu.
