RAJ KAILASH HOSPITALITY will develop the 232-key Gateway Agra in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. The greenfield project is planned along the Yamuna Expressway.

Agra is home to the Taj Mahal and is part of India’s Golden Triangle tourism circuit, along with Delhi and Jaipur. The hotel will feature restaurants, a bar, a gym, a swimming pool, banquet halls and conference and meeting rooms, Indian Hotels Co. Ltd. said in a statement.

“Agra is an integral part of India’s tourism landscape and one of the country’s most iconic destinations,” said Suma Venkatesh, IHCL’s executive vice president for real estate and development. “Beyond tourism, Agra is evolving into a significant urban center in Uttar Pradesh, supported by infrastructure development, new townships, and upcoming IT parks.”

Kishore Kumar and Mani Gupta, promoters of Raj Kailash, said Agra has strong tourism demand and growing infrastructure.

The project brings IHCL’s portfolio in Uttar Pradesh to 64 hotels, including 27 under development, the statement said.

Separately, IHCL recently signed the 125-key Gateway Siliguri in Siliguri, West Bengal.
