Accor promoted Balvinder Sahrawat to vice president of development for South Asia, to lead portfolio expansion and new signings.

Balvinder Sahrawat is now vice president of development for South Asia, at Accor Ltd. He will lead portfolio expansion, new signings and brand alignment across the region.

The appointment marks his 17th year with Accor, the company said in a statement. Sahrawat has led business development, greenfield projects, real estate acquisitions, and network expansion. He has also overseen the signing and development of properties through franchise agreements and management contracts while building relationships with owners, developers, investors and other stakeholders.


His experience spans real estate investment, hospitality operations and development, with a focus on portfolio growth and owner relationships across the region.

"His strong business acumen, strategic vision and exceptional ability to build long-term partnerships have been important in strengthening our development throughout South Asia. As we continue to accelerate our growth ambitions, I am confident that under his leadership we will further strengthen our portfolio, deepen our partnerships and unlock new opportunities across markets and segments."

Sahrawat said Accor is where he built his career, grew professionally, built lasting relationships and came to understand what the Group stands for.

Accor Chairman and CEO Sébastien Bazin will step down in May 2028, but the board may name his successor earlier if it identifies a suitable candidate.
