Sonesta signs 28 deals in H1

SONESTA INTERNATIONAL HOTELS Corp. announced 22 hotel openings and 28 franchise agreements in the first half of 2026. Openings included Signature Inn by Sonesta, Americas Best Value Inn by Sonesta, Sonesta Essential Hotels and Red Lion Inn & Suites by Sonesta.

The company added more than 2,000 rooms during the period, Sonesta said in a statement.


“Our strong performance in the first half of 2026 demonstrates the resilience of our growth strategy and the trust our franchisees place in Sonesta,” said Keith Pierce, Sonesta’s co-CEO. “We are seeing sustained interest from owners who value our nimbleness and the market advantages our portfolio offers across multiple segments.”

The openings included William Tell, MOD A Sonesta Collection in Chicago/La Grange, Illinois; Americas Best Value Inn properties in Brownsville, Canton, Irving and Tomball, Texas; Monroe, Louisiana; Raleigh, North Carolina; Globe, Arizona; and Knoxville, Tennessee. Sonesta also opened Sonesta Select hotels in Statesville, North Carolina and Houston IAH Greenspoint, Texas, as well as Signature Inn properties in Medford, Oregon and Mountain View, California.

Additional openings included Sonesta Hotels and Resorts Curacao. Also, Red Lion Inn & Suites properties in Houston; Kansas City, Missouri; and Bucyrus North, Ohio. Also, Sonesta Essential hotels at Houston Hobby Airport Road, Houston Hobby Airport and Longview, Texas; Knights Inn Hartford, Connecticut; and Red Lion Hotel Kalispell, Montana.

Sonesta opened 29 properties worldwide in the second half of 2025, including 24 in the U.S., and completed more than 100 hotel sales to new ownership groups during the same period.
