ROCKPOINT AND NEWBOND Holdings acquired the 141-key Hotel Maren Fort Lauderdale, Curio Collection by Hilton, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The 12-story oceanfront property was built in 2021 on a 0.8-acre parcel just south of Las Olas Boulevard in the Fort Lauderdale Beach submarket, the companies said in a statement. The hotel has ocean or Intracoastal Waterway views from every room.
Hotel amenities include an oceanfront pool and sun deck, retail, meeting and event spaces and a fitness studio, the statement said. The owners plan to enhance the hotel's food and beverage offerings and public areas.
The acquisition builds on the firms' relationship, which includes the September 2025 acquisition of the Westin Tampa Waterside. New York-based Newbond is led by founding partner Neil Luthra and Boston-based private equity firm Rockpoint is led by managing director Patrick Ryan.
"Hotel Maren is a high-quality beachfront property in a compelling submarket with attractive long-term fundamentals," Ryan said. "We believe there is a meaningful opportunity to build on the hotel's existing strengths through targeted enhancements to the property and guest experience."
Luthra said Fort Lauderdale Beach continues to evolve as a destination and that the firm sees an opportunity in the stretch south of Las Olas.
"Hotel Maren is a recently built, oceanfront asset with oversized guestrooms, exceptional water views, and a location that we believe will become increasingly compelling as the surrounding area continues to attract significant investment," he said.
In December, Newbond named Anjali Agarwal senior vice president of asset management.
