Stonebridge Cos. named Rich Cortese special advisor to the Caribbean.
The move reflects the firm’s focus on the Caribbean and Latin America.
It recently opened a Miami office.
Rich Cortese is now special advisor to the Caribbean region for Stonebridge Cos. He brings more than 30 years of experience in Caribbean development, operations, and asset management to support the firm’s expansion in the region.
Cortese, who has overseen several Caribbean resort properties, previously served as executive vice president at Caribbean Property Group, managing a $750 million portfolio that included the Ritz-Carlton San Juan, Marriott Aruba, Radisson San Juan, the Normandie Hotel and a portfolio of Courtyard by Marriott properties, Stonebridge said in a statement.
Denver-based Stonebridge, founded by Chairman Navin Dimond, is led by President and CEO Rob Smith.
“Rich is an unmatched resource in the Caribbean hotel space, and we’re fortunate to have him advising our team as we continue building out our footprint in the region,” said Smith. “With my two decades of experience in the Caribbean and Marco Selva leading our luxury and resort platform, Rich’s insight and relationships will strengthen our offering to owners seeking operational excellence and regional expertise.”
Cortese’s appointment reflects Stonebridge’s focus on the Caribbean and Latin American region, the statement said. It recently opened a Miami office led by Marco Selva, senior vice president of business development and operations for luxury and lifestyle.
Selva said he looks forward to collaborating with Cortese as Stonebridge expands in the Caribbean.
“His experience and relationships in the region align with our strategy,” he said. “Together, we’ll offer owners a comprehensive approach that combines strategic insight, operations, and regional knowledge.”
Earlier in his career, Cortese led operations at the El San Juan, El Conquistador, and Conrad Plaza in Puerto Rico, and at Wyndham properties across the Caribbean.

Peachtree Group names Billy Gilchrist SVP of Originations.
Formerly he was CFO and Investment Officer at ARK, a real estate firm.
He is experienced in debt structuring, capital raising and asset management.
Billy Gilchrist is Peachtree Group’s new senior vice president for originations. He will be responsible for originating commercial real estate and hotel investments across the company’s lending platform.
Gilchrist was chief financial and investment officer at ARK, a real estate investment firm, overseeing investment strategy, financial planning and operations, Peachtree said in a statement.
Gilchrist’s work includes debt structuring, capital raising and asset management, the statement said. He held senior roles at Hotel Development & Management Group, overseeing development, acquisitions and investor engagement. Earlier, he also worked at Insight Credit Union and BB&T, managing credit portfolios and small business relationships.
“Billy’s deep background in finance and real estate, combined with his ability to structure complex transactions and foster strong relationships, will be instrumental as we continue scaling our lending platform,” said Jared Schlosser, Peachtree’s head of originations and CPACE. “His appointment reflects our commitment to expanding our origination capabilities with leaders who bring both strategic vision and hands-on experience.”

CBRE named Mona Govahi a director of its national property tax practice at VAS.
She recently served as business development manager at O’Connor Tax Reduction Experts.
She earned a spot on the Asian Hospitality List of the 51 Most Successful Women of Color.
Mona Govahi is now one of CBRE’s directors of national property tax practice within its valuation and advisory services. She will lead the team providing property tax consulting, valuations and portfolio strategies across hotels, multifamily, industrial and mixed-use properties.
She most recently served as national business development manager at O’Connor & Associates. Her work earned her a spot on the 2025 Asian Hospitality Power List of the 51 Most Successful Women of Color, highlighting her role in the hospitality and real estate sectors, CBRE said in a statement.

IHG named Jaideep Dang head of development, South West Asia, to lead regional growth.
Previously, he was managing director of Hotels & Hospitality Group at JLL India.
IHG opened its 50th hotel in India and has a pipeline of 70+ hotels in key cities.
Jaideep Dang is now IHG Hotels & Resorts’ head of development for South West Asia. He will drive the company’s growth strategy in the region and report directly to Sudeep Jain, managing director, South West Asia.
He joins from JLL India, where, as managing director of the Hotels & Hospitality Group, he led advisory and transactions for India and South Asia, IHG said in a statement.
“We are delighted to welcome Jaideep to IHG,” said Jain. “His expertise, industry relationships and leadership will be invaluable as we continue to accelerate our growth and strengthen our presence in South West Asia. I am confident he will play a key role in shaping and executing our development strategy in the region.”
During Dang’s term, JLL’s business established a leading position in hotel investment sales and built a team recognized for advisory on hotel project feasibilities, valuations, management contracts and development strategies, the statement said. Prior to JLL, Dang spent eight years with The Oberoi Group as senior vice president, strategic development.
Dang said he is excited to join IHG at a dynamic time for the region’s hospitality industry.

IHG opened its 50th hotel in India earlier this year and has a pipeline of more than 70 hotels across luxury, premium and mainstream segments in key cities. With a goal of operating 100 hotels in the next three to five years, the company remains committed to expanding across both established and emerging destinations.
G6 added eight team members to its franchise development group.
Sachin Sachdeva, Jay Vekaria, Gregory Jones and Swaraj Gaikwad joined the team.
The company plans more hires in other states in the coming months.

The four will cover different regions around the country, G6 said in a statement. The company, parent of Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands, plans additional hires in other states in the coming months.

Sachdeva is responsible for franchise growth across the Midwest, covering Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin, the statement said. He previously led business development for OYO in the U.S. and Canada and served as country revenue head in Indonesia and Malaysia.
Vekaria will grow G6 Brands in the Northeast, covering Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. Before joining G6 Hospitality, he worked in hospitality, fintech and private equity.
Jones leads the Western region, covering California and Nevada. He has experience managing operations, revenue growth and franchise development across multiple U.S. hotel groups.
Gaikwad oversees New Mexico and South Texas. Before joining G6 Hospitality, he led business operations and growth at OYO U.S.
Nikhil Heda, G6 Hospitality’s senior vice president of development, said the company is focusing on supporting franchisees and leveraging local market expertise as it expands into certain states.
“I look forward to working with our new team members and am confident their experience will create value and opportunities for our partners,” Heda said.

Marriott promoted Kiran Andicot to SVP, South Asia, replacing Ranju Alex, who joined Accor.
Andicot joined the company’s development and feasibility team in 2006.
He has led expansion across the region, signing over 220 hotels.
Kiran Andicot is now senior vice president for South Asia at Marriott International. He will oversee operations and development across the region.
Andicot, joined Marriott in 2006 in the development and feasibility team and has since led the company’s growth in India and neighbouring countries, Marriott said in a statement. He was senior vice president for hotel development, South Asia.
Before joining Marriott, Andicot worked in consultancy with EY and HVS and spent seven years in hotel operations with IHCL and the Oberoi Group in India.
Over his tenure, Andicot has led Marriott’s expansion across India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh, signing more than 220 hotels, the statement said.
In 2024, his team secured 42 hotel signings with 7,000 rooms in India. Earlier this year, Andicot led the deal with Concept Hospitality to affiliate The Fern portfolio of 115 properties under Series by Marriott, extending the brand into tier 2 and 3 markets. Openings are planned in Surat, Shimla, Jalandhar and Coorg.
