RADISSON HOTEL GROUP signed two properties—Radisson Hotel Mumbai Thane and Radisson Hotel Mumbai Mira Bhayandar—with Vihang Group and Vihang Ahead. The two hotels together account for 217 keys, reflecting the group’s expansion in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

The 114-key Thane property will be developed by Vihang Group, while the 103-room Mira Bhayandar hotel will be developed with Vihang Group-owned Vihang Ahead, RHG said in a statement. The company has four operational hotels in the city and three in the pipeline.

“As we continue to strengthen our presence across metro cities in India, a key focus for us is identifying and expanding into emerging business corridors that are witnessing increasing commercial activity and infrastructure development,” said Nikhil Sharma, RHG’s managing director and COO. “These signings align with that strategy, allowing us to deepen our footprint within high-growth urban clusters and cater to evolving demand from business and MICE segments.”

Radisson Hotel Mumbai Thane will be located on Pokhran Road near office developments and retail hubs, the statement said. The hotel is connected via National Highway 48 and has access to Thane Railway Station, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and Navi Mumbai International Airport.

Pratap Sarnaik, Vihang Group founder and chairman, said the partnership reflects the group’s commitment to the growth of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

“For decades, we have focused on developing infrastructure and improving living standards in the region,” he said. “This venture marks another step in that direction and strengthens the hospitality ecosystem in the area.”

Radisson Mira Bhayandar will be developed on Mira Bhayandar Road with access to National Highway 48 and Mumbai’s western suburbs. The location will also be connected by upcoming metro infrastructure. The property will introduce an internationally branded hotel to the micro-market.

“Bringing the first five-star hotel to Mira Bhayandar is a milestone,” said Purvesh Pratap Sarnaik, Vihang Ahead’s director. “By bringing Radisson to Vihang Ventura, we are creating a destination that combines business, retail, and hospitality. This places Mira Bhayandar on the national hospitality map.”

Davashish Srivastava, RHG’s senior director for development, South Asia, said Tier 1 cities are important to growth through assets and identification of micro-markets within metros, where connectivity and commercial activity are creating new demand centres.

“Both properties are part of mixed-use developments, which allow us to integrate hospitality within commercial and retail ecosystems,” he said. “By securing well-located projects in Thane and Mira Bhayandar, we are creating a cluster within the region and supporting demand-led growth.”

RHG aims to create 65,000 to 80,000 jobs in India through 500 properties by 2030, focusing on local hiring and career development.
