PEACHTREE GROUP REFINANCED the 265-key Candler Hotel in Atlanta, operated under Hilton’s Curio Collection. JLL Hotels & Hospitality facilitated the transaction.

The hotel is near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, JLL said in a statement. It also is close to the Georgia World Congress Center, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, World of Coke, Georgia Aquarium, the Center for Civil and Human Rights, State Farm Arena and AmericasMart Atlanta. It is owned by REM Associates and managed by Highgate Hotels.

Atlanta-based Peachtree is led by CEO Greg Friedman, CFO and Managing Principal Jatin Desai and Principal Mitul Patel.

Built in 1906 by Coca-Cola magnate Asa Griggs Candler, the Beaux-Arts building was Atlanta’s first steel skyscraper and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, according to Hilton. It previously served as the headquarters of Central Bank and Trust. The bank vault in the building’s basement is rumored to have housed the Coca-Cola formula.

Thornhill Cos. converted the Candler Building into a 265-room hotel in 2019, preserving its original architecture. The hotel ranked 16 worldwide in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 roundup of the Best Curio Collection by Hilton Hotels.

“This financing reflects lender confidence in the Candler’s positioning and Atlanta’s recovery as a convention destination,” said Kevin Davis, JLL’s Americas CEO.

He said the property’s proximity to demand generators and limited new supply in the upper-upscale segment support long-term growth.

The JLL team included Managing Director Mark Fisher, Director Connor Medzigian and Analyst Pierce Rutledge.

Peachtree’s equipment finance division closed $29.8 million in capital lease and fair market value transactions across multiple industries in its first full quarter following the platform’s October launch.
