MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL AND Concept Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. secured 75 hotel signings and 50 openings for Series by Marriott in India within six months of its November 2025 debut. The expansion adds more than 3,556 rooms across 43 cities in India’s tier 1 to 3 markets.

Concept Hospitality, owner of The Fern Hotels & Resorts, is led by Executive Chairman Param Kannampilly and Managing Director Suhail Kannampilly. The Fern brand, launched in 2009, focuses on energy efficiency and waste management.

The collaboration combines The Fern’s regional hospitality model with Marriott’s global distribution network and Marriott Bonvoy loyalty ecosystem, the companies said in a statement.

“When we launched Series by Marriott in India last November, we spoke of a brand designed to scale with both speed and purpose,” said Kiran Andicot, Marriott’s senior vice president for South Asia. “Reaching 75 signings, with 50 open and operating hotels across the country, in under six months is a validation of that vision. India is not simply a launchpad for this brand; it is proof of concept. As we expand our footprint, we remain focused on delivering consistent, quality experiences for guests, while offering owners an efficient, conversion-friendly model, backed by the strength of Marriott Bonvoy and our distribution ecosystem.”

In April, The Fern Hotels signed a new property, Desert Inn Beacon, a Marriott Tribute Portfolio hotel, in the Greater Rann of Kutch, Gujarat.

Suhail Kannampilly said reaching 75 signed hotels is a milestone, but the key focus is the hotels already open, welcoming guests, building loyalty and delivering on the initial promise of the partnership.

“The alignment between The Fern’s heritage of thoughtful, regionally rooted hospitality and Marriott International’s global standards and distribution has resonated powerfully with owners and travelers alike,” he said. “Between our commitment to sustainable hospitality, the industry’s growing appetite for quality development and Marriott’s unmatched systems and loyalty reach, we are tracking well ahead of our plans - and we are only just beginning.”

Series by Marriott targets domestic travelers seeking consistent standards and local experiences, the statement said. Each property reflects its region and guests. From hotels in Rajasthan to business hotels in Tier 2 cities, each hotel maintains quality while reflecting its location. Select properties include fitness centers and meeting and event spaces, serving leisure and business travelers.

The brand is present in key cities, tier 2 markets and resort destinations, with openings including The Fern Mumbai, Goregaon, Series by Marriott; The Fern Jaipur, Series by Marriott; The Fern Habitat Goa, Candolim, Series by Marriott; Rakabi The Fern Igatpuri, Series by Marriott and The Fern Residency Bengaluru, Seshadripuram, Series by Marriott.

Marriott remains focused on expansion in India, with a pipeline of 200 hotels and continued focus on spiritual tourism, despite short-term disruptions to global travel flows from the West Asia crisis.
