The property is near the Delhi-Dehradun Highway and the Mall of Dehradun. It is about 18 kilometers from Jolly Grant Airport and around six kilometers from Dehradun Railway Station.
It also is close to Mussoorie, Rishikesh and Haridwar. Other spots close by include Robber's Cave, Rajaji National Park, Mindrolling Monastery and Lachhiwala Nature Park.
The hotel includes banquet halls, outdoor lawns, a multi-cuisine restaurant and recreational facilities. It is set up to serve different types of travelers, including families, wedding groups and corporate guests, according to the company. A second phase will add 56 more rooms.
"Dehradun represents one of the most important emerging hospitality markets in North India today," said Puneet Sethi, Kaara managing director. "Kaara Dehradun developed to respond to that demand with a format that combines personalized hospitality, strong event infrastructure and operational consistency."
The company, founded in 2021, operates across Gurugram and Dehradun with a pipeline extending to Udaipur, Jaipur, Jim Corbett, Ranthambore and Goa. It runs two brands, Kaara for leisure properties and Aayra for boutique city hotels.
The company is also targeting 120 hotels and $52.65 million in annual revenue by the financial year 2030-31. Dehradun's rise in the hospitality space is also visible in the numbers. A Hotelivate report shows the city recorded a 67.5 percent rise in branded hotel rooms, reaching 1,236 rooms in the financial year 2023- 24, the highest growth rate among cities tracked.
India's total branded room count is expected to grow from 180,500 to 250,000 by financial year 2028-29, with tier-III cities likely to account for nearly 50 percent of that growth. The North and West regions are seen as key drivers, with Dehradun among the markets expected to lead.
In February, Le Méridien Dehradun Resort & Spa opened a 103-key property in Dehradun, marking the brand’s entry into the city.
