The hotel will be part of a mixed-use development in Vrindavan, a pilgrimage destination in the Braj region. It will cater to pilgrimage and leisure travelers, IHG Hotels & Resorts said in a statement.
The hotel will have dining venues, more than 2,340 square meters of meeting and event space, including a 1,400-square-meter ballroom, a swimming pool and a fitness center. The development will also include serviced apartments that share the hotel’s facilities.
“Vrindavan holds a unique place within India’s tourism landscape, with its deep cultural and spiritual significance attracting visitors from across the country and around the world,” said Sudeep Jain, IHG’s managing director for South West Asia.
Ankush Kadyan, Vrindam Developers director, said the company’s partnership with IHG marks its entry into the hospitality sector.
The Braj region welcomed more than 90 million visitors in 2024, up from 79 million the previous year, the statement said. Annual visitor numbers are expected to reach 110 million to 140 million over the next decade, supported by better road links to Delhi NCR and Agra and projects such as the Banke Bihari Corridor.
Separately, Yamini Marketings will develop the 92-key voco Resort Kanatal in Uttarakhand.
