G6, HotelKey provide new tech for Motel 6, Studio 6

G6 HOSPITALITY INTERNATIONAL Inc. and HotelKey plan to update technology across its U.S. and Canada properties, with HotelKey remaining the core property management system for all Motel 6 and Studio 6 properties. G6, now part of OYO's global portfolio, is led by Ritesh Agarwal as chairman, while HotelKey was co-founded by Aditya Thyagarajan and Fareed Ahmad.

The announcement was made at the Radisson Blu, Nagpur, Maharashtra, in the presence of Nitin Gadkari, India’s union minister of road transport and highways, the companies said in a joint statement.

"HotelKey's feature set and user-friendly interface have consistently delivered strong results for property owners,” said Agarwal, also the founder and CEO of OYO. “Their PMS platform's high adoption rates and positive feedback from hoteliers show why they're the ideal technology partner for our franchisees. HotelKey's success story exemplifies Indian technology excellence, with core development and engineering operations based in Nagpur.”

Agarwal said the partnership aims to maintain operational continuity while improving technological capabilities across the G6 network.

“Given HotelKey's proven track record as G6 Hospitality's trusted PMS provider and its strong familiarity among our franchisees, they were the natural choice for continued operations,” he said.

In December, Oravel Stays, OYO's parent company, completed its $525 million acquisition of G6 Hospitality, restructured its leadership, and announced plans to add 150 hotels to the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands in 2025, focusing on tech integration, property upgrades, and market expansion.

G6 Hospitality plans to add more than 150 hotels under the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands in 2025, expanding its presence in key markets across its 1,500+ North American properties, the statement said. G6 Hospitality and HotelKey will optimize operations, streamline processes, and improve guest experiences across G6 portfolios. Franchisees will continue using HotelKey's trusted PMS interface, ensuring operational continuity.

"We are delighted to partner with OYO and bring the power of HotelKey to their G6 portfolio,” Thyagarajan said. “This collaboration will help us empower the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands to optimize operations, enhance the guest experience, and improve efficiency across their properties. We aim to support G6 Hospitality in reaching new heights in the hospitality industry."

The partnership has received positive feedback from G6 franchisees.

"Our G6 franchisees are thrilled about the partnership between OYO and HotelKey,” said Sam Patel, CEO of Natson Hotels. “This collaboration combines OYO's innovative approach to hospitality with HotelKey's advanced technology, benefiting our G6 hotels."
