EXTENDED STAY AMERICA held its annual franchise owners' conference in Dallas under the theme "Aligned and Activated." ESA highlighted franchise growth and recognized hotels and operators for their performance.

The company showed owners how its leadership and resources support hotel performance and set its brands apart, ESA said in a statement.

"This conference is an important week on our calendar,” said Greg Juceam, ESA president and CEO. “It's where we connect on what matters most to our franchise owners and leave energized about where we're headed next."

ESA more than doubled its franchised hotel count since launching its franchise program in 2018, the statement said. The growth reflects investor interest in its extended-stay platform.

The conference agenda included a presentation by Kalibri Labs Founder and CEO Cindy Estis Green on hospitality and extended-stay performance data, ESA said. It also featured a peer panel of franchise owners, discussions with industry experts and breakout sessions with leaders in sales, marketing, franchise services and training.

The company recognized franchise hotels for operations, guest service and development, the statement said. Awards included Best New Development & Ramp Up for Extended Stay America Premier Suites Bradenton, owned by Sandpiper Bradenton LLC; Best New Conversion for Extended Stay America Suites Houston – Galleria, owned by SAI RAM Galleria LLC and Best New Renovation for Extended Stay America Suites Cleveland-Beachwood-Orange Place-South, owned by 3280 Orange Pl LLC.

Extended Stay America Premier Suites San Antonio – Schertz, owned by ES Schertz LLC, received the Overall Guest Experience Achievement award. Extended Stay America Suites Buffalo – Airport, owned by 901 Dick Road Hotel LLC, received the Most Improved Hotel award. TGC Hospitality Management received the Care Ambassador Award.

Lisa Giaimo, ESA VP of franchise, said the awards celebrate franchise owners who, day in and day out, run great hotels.

"Their commitment to disciplined operations, thoughtful guest experiences and continuous improvement is what sets our top franchise owners apart."

ESA operates more than 650 hotels across three brands: Extended Stay America Premier Suites, Extended Stay America Suites and Extended Stay America Select Suites.

Separately, Mark Williams, ESA managing director of franchise development, will retire at the end of the year.
