ACCESS CONTROL PRODUCER dormakaba plans to acquire technology firm Alliants. The deal expands its hospitality offering beyond physical locking systems by linking room entry with digital guest engagement.
Alliants provides guest experience software and managed services for hotels before, during and after stays, dormakaba said in a statement. Its platform includes concierge, contactless check-in, mobile keys, payments, messaging and agentic AI. Combining the platforms will give hotels the option of an end-to-end solution for digital guest engagement, access and hotel operations.
Meanwhile, both companies will keep their systems interoperable with other providers, letting hotels continue working with the manufacturers and software partners of their choice.
"Hotel owners and operators increasingly view access and guest experience as part of the same strategy," said Till Reuter, dormakaba CEO. "Alliants adds proven technology and deep hospitality expertise that help us better serve hotels today and as their needs evolve. Hospitality is a key growth vertical for dormakaba, and this acquisition reflects our continued investment in the sector globally while broadening the value we can deliver to hotel customers."
Tristan Gadsby, Alliants CEO and founder, said access and guest experience stopped being separate problems some time ago, but the industry's tools have yet to catch up.
"Alliants brings the digital guest journey, and dormakaba brings a proven track record in access and a presence in more than 130 countries," he said.
Separately, TravelAI acquired the Sonder brand, including the Sonder word mark, more than 50 trademark registrations and more than 70 domain names, and relaunched Sonder.com as a guide to urban stays under its consumer brand.
