Crowne Plaza Manhattan Times Square is now open in New York City. The 685-key, 22-story hotel in Manhattan was developed by Al Rayyan Tourism Investment Co. and is managed by Highgate.
The property, housed in a landmark built for the 1964 New York World's Fair, is near Times Square, Rockefeller Center, the Broadway Theater District and Central Park, IHG Hotels & Resorts said in a statement. It offers city-view guestrooms and spaces for work and features locally inspired artwork and large-scale murals by Brazilian-born, Atlanta-based artist Tiago Magro.
The hotel features Fifty-First Street Social, its bar and all-day dining venue, and the 24/7 Marketplace, offering grab-and-go options and travel essentials, the statement said. For business travelers and groups, the hotel offers meeting and event spaces for small team sessions. The Studio provides a private setting for focused collaboration near the lobby. A Meetings & Events Concierge service is also available.
The Manhattan Level, on the hotel's upper floors, offers suites and guestrooms with skyline views. The Broadway Suite is a penthouse on the 22nd floor.

"Working closely with IHG, we have reimagined the hotel while preserving its unique character, and we are delighted to see its new chapter begin as Crowne Plaza Manhattan Times Square."
ARTIC, established in 2003 and led by El Sayed, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Qatar-based Al Faisal Holding. It develops, acquires and leases real estate, with a focus on hospitality and related services in Qatar and international markets.
“The U.S. remains a key market for ARTIC, and we see significant long-term potential to further strengthen our presence, while continuing to invest in our existing portfolio and pursue opportunities that support ARTIC’s long-term growth and diversification,” El Sayed said.
New York-based Highgate is led by co-founders Mahmood Khimji and Mehdi Khimji.
IHG reported a 4.1 percent increase in global RevPAR for the six months ended June 30. Operating profit from reportable segments rose 10 percent to $665 million.
