- Manga acquired Chicago Sonesta.
- The hotel is River North.
- Acquisition expands U.S. portfolio.
The hotel is in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, near the Magnificent Mile and the area’s restaurants, shops and cultural attractions. Its facilities include 10 meeting rooms with more than 8,000 square feet of event space, a fitness center, an indoor pool and on-site dining, Manga said in a statement.
The deal follows Manga’s acquisition of SoHo 54 Hotel in New York City in 2025 and The Chelsean New York Hotel in June. The addition brings TOOR Hotels to Chicago, joining its presence in Toronto and New York City.
“Chicago is an important hospitality market and this was a strategic move to add another major city to the TOOR brand alongside Toronto and New York City,” said Sukhdev Toor, Manga president and CEO.
Manga, founded by Toor, operates 35 hotels with 6,600 rooms in Canada, along with apartment developments, F&B outlets and airport parking sites.
In January, IHG Hotels & Resorts and Ruby Group announced plans to bring the Ruby Hotels brand to the U.S. with a 412-key hotel in Chicago.
