ADANI AIRPORT HOLDINGS and IHG Hotels & Resorts are developing five hotels across Jaipur, Mangaluru, Thiruvananthapuram and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. This will add about 1,500 keys across multiple brands and locations, aligned with IHG’s India expansion plans.
The pact also marks Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants’ debut in India, the companies said in a statement. The portfolio includes a Kimpton hotel in Jaipur and Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express hotels in mixed-use developments in Adani Airport cities.
“As the Adani Group expands its presence across hospitality and airport-led urban infrastructure, our vision is to create world-class destinations that seamlessly integrate travel, stay and urban experiences around India's rapidly growing aviation ecosystem,” said Pranav Adani, Adani Enterprises’ director.
Adani Airport Holdings operates airports in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Guwahati, Mangaluru and Thiruvananthapuram, the statement said. The company is also in advanced discussions with IHG to expand the partnership.
Adani said the company is building the platform with international hotel brands that bring standards, operations and scale.
“Our collaboration with IHG Hotels & Resorts and the development of five hotels across key gateway destinations, marks an important step in strengthening high-quality hospitality infrastructure aligned with India's long-term travel and economic growth,” he said.
The announcement comes amid growth in India’s aviation and tourism sectors, with airport-led developments emerging as hospitality and commercial hubs driven by rising passenger traffic, domestic tourism and business travel demand.
“The partnership with Adani Airport Holdings reflects the scale of opportunity we continue to see in India's hospitality sector, particularly across gateway cities and airport-led developments that are witnessing strong demand from business, leisure and transit travellers alike,” said Sudeep Jain, IHG’s managing director for South West Asia.
“With a mix of luxury, premium and essential brands, the portfolio will strengthen IHG’s presence in growth markets across India.”
IHG operates 52 hotels across six brands in India and has 98 more in the pipeline, expected to open more than the next three to five years.
Adani Airport Holdings said it is developing airports as urban ecosystems combining aviation, hospitality, retail, commercial and social infrastructure. Through airport city developments spanning about 663 acres across key cities, the company is building mixed-use destinations aimed at improving travel and supporting economic and urban growth, according to PTI.
In April, Adani Airport City Ltd. set up three wholly owned subsidiaries for hotel and real estate projects. The units will build and operate hotels, restaurants, banquets and business centres. Adani Airport City is a unit of Adani Airport Holdings Ltd., incorporated in 2019 as a wholly owned subsidiary of AEL.
