The 47-key, upper-economy property is owned by Sonny Patel, Sonesta International Hotels Corp. said in a statement.
“Signature Inn Merced/Yosemite Parkway is our second recent brand opening in Northern California, expanding Sonesta’s presence in a sought after and frequently visited destination,” said Keith Pierce, Sonesta’s executive vice president and president of franchise and development. “With convenient proximity to Yosemite National Park, this iconic hotel will provide a dependable, affordable and retro experience for travelers venturing through California’s greatest park or visiting Merced University.”
Recently, Sonesta’s Red Lion Inn opened in Urbana, Illinois. The hotel is six miles from the University of Illinois Willard Airport.
